The News Source I Rely on for EVERYTHING

Ever since a kid I’ve grown up listening to the news and people talking about the news. As a young, impressionable kid I was taught by the majority of society that each person has THEIR news source that they get all of their information from. “I listen to CNN” or “Well I watch Fox” were a couple of sayings I’d been accustomed to hearing. As a little moron I jumped on the bandwagon and Fox was MY news source.

As time went on and I began to think for myself, I began to realize that a lot of the information that I heard on Fox was complete crap. So CNN was next on my list, being the other major news source. Turns out CNN is even crappier than Fox. My frustrations around all of the false information I was being fed turned me away from any news source. For the past 4 years I’ve been relying on hearsay to find out about major happenings in our world and It’s been working out great. Sure I still here some convoluted story that probably isn’t true, but I’m hearing it from a friend instead of some random person on the television. But as I enter college it’s time to start looking towards major news sources once again. NONE of them are right and NONE of them tell the story as it actually happened. Knowing this I will use many different sources in an attempt to look at the world through the least-biased point of view.

We use 5 sources of information to help us understand our immediate surroundings- sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. We can’t possibly rely on just one source to help us understand the world.
