Barry Goldwater was against civil rights and believed the government had no say as to who an individual can deal with. Later he changed his mind.
Shirley Chisholm was an equal rights activists and was a long serving black female who was elected to congress.She was the first African American and woman to run for president.
Anita Bryant was an anti-gay activist that supported christian beliefs. She led many anti-gay campaigns and was somewhat successful in persuading the publics viewpoint. However, it hurt her carer.
Robert Kennedy was assassinated after winning the California primary. He predicted that an African American would soon to be president. He frequently talked of incorporating African Americans into the work force.
George Wallace was he 4 time governor of Alabama and ran for president 4 times. He was backed by the KKK and supported racial segregation.
